ALBAWABA - Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, has reportedly met the unseen, unheard leader of Iran in the backseat of a tinted car without seeing him or shaking his hand, according to an Iran International exclusive report.
According to the report, the meeting was granted to Pezeshkian after numerous requests to meet were denied and only after Pezeshkian threatened to resign did the Supreme Leader’s office begrudgingly assent to a meeting.
Pezeshkian was instructed to drive to a specific street in Tehran where he was directed from his car to the backseat of another tinted car where he supposedly had his meeting with Mojtaba Khamenei, with voices carrying the entire meeting; as the president was not able to see the Supreme Leader nor shake his hand.
Pezeshkian could not see the man he was talking to and later questioned whether the voice had really belonged to the Supreme Leader, according to the sources.
The details of the meeting were told differently by Pezeshkian in public as in mid-May he said he spent two and a half hours with the new Supreme Leader “in a cordial atmosphere”,
But according to Iran International’s report, the encounter lasted only a few minutes after which Pezeshkian was asked to leave.
This reportedly angered Pezeshkian who viewed the meeting as humiliating and whether the remark was an expression of anger or genuine doubt was unclear, Pezeshkian has since requested a second meeting at the leader's residence which has been denied.
In truth, no one categorically knows if the Supreme Leader is alive or dead, not even those fighting him, where Trump put the odds that Mojtaba Khamenei had been killed at 90 percent, Netanyahu recently said he is alive.
And it seems Pezeshkian has run out of resignation threat credits as Mohammad Bagher Kharrazi, a relative of Khamenei, said that Mojtaba has formally warned that Pezeshkian's next resignation, after 28 threats or attempts, will be his last.
"He declared it officially," Kharrazi said, "and that is why they packed up, turned down the wick, and stopped threatening to resign."
As Iran International succinctly put it: Mojtaba Khamenei remains unseen, unheard and unrecorded, a ruler his own president has met exactly once, in the dark, and still cannot be certain he has met at all.
