ALBAWABA - The U.S. Army has tested a brand new system that is able to destroy missiles rapidly and while they are mid-air.
A weapon that destroys missiles before they reach their targets, Fox News reported, adding that Washington tested the new cyber force called "Hammer of the God" days ago.
The electronic weapon test by the American army was done in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California, local sources confirmed.

According to The Washington Times, the new weapon works not on direct destruction of the missile, but rather on jamming the control systems of guided missiles and drones before they reach their targets.
The American website continued in the report that by pushing one button, smart weapons lose their "guidance" and become aimless targets in mid-air.
The technology works by disrupting GPS, navigation, and communication signals mid-flight. The absence of this data turns even the most sophisticated missiles into mere flying pieces of metal, completely losing their accuracy.
The test proved the feasibility of launching and controlling this system from warships in the middle of the sea, while keeping US forces' communication lines open and uninterrupted.
