ALBAWABA - Mustafa Avkıran and Ersin Arıcı join Uzak Şehir highly anticipated third season.

Uzak Şehir is preparing for its highly anticipated third season with several major additions to its cast, as the hit Kanal D drama gets ready to return to screens in September.

Following several departures at the end of the second season, the AyNa Yapım production is expanding its cast with experienced actors Mustafa Avkıran and Ersin Arıcı, who will take on new roles in the story.

Mustafa Avkıran has officially joined the series as Kartal, a new character whose arrival is expected to bring another layer to the drama. The actor is known for his work in a number of popular Turkish productions, including Yaprak Dökümü, Kuzey Güney, Çukur and Yeni Gelin. Turkish media reports describe Kartal as a surprise addition to the series, although further details about his character have not yet been revealed.

The casting news comes as Uzak Şehir prepares for a significant transition following the second-season finale. Several familiar faces left the series at the end of the season, creating space for new characters and storylines in the upcoming episodes. Sözcü reported that six departures had been confirmed following the season finale.

Another notable addition is Ersin Arıcı, who will portray a character named Ateş.

Ersin Arıcı became widely recognized for his performance as Abidin in the hit series Yalı Çapkını. He most recently appeared in TRT's Operasyon Alesta and will now join the cast of Uzak Şehir, which continues to be filmed in Mardin.

The announcement of Arıcı's casting follows news that Onur Özaydın has also joined the third season as Enver. According to earlier reports, Enver is connected to Alya's storyline and is described as a charismatic man living in Budapest, where he owns an elegant restaurant. His arrival is expected to introduce another new dynamic to the series.

The third season is being prepared after Uzak Şehir completed its second season with its 63rd episode. The finale was followed by several cast departures, making the new additions particularly significant for the direction of the story.

At the center of the drama are Ozan Akbaba as Cihan Albora and Sinem Ünsal as Alya Albora. The series follows Alya, who arrives in Mardin from Canada with her late husband's body and their five-year-old son to fulfill his final wishes. She soon finds herself drawn into the powerful Albora family's world, where hidden secrets and conflicts complicate her plans to leave.

The series is produced by AyNa Yapım, with Kerem Çatay and Lale Eren serving as producers. Gülizar Irmak is the screenwriter, while Ahmet Katıksız, Emre Aybek and Yıldız Aşanboğa Taşbaşı have been credited among the directors.

Uzak Şehir became one of Kanal D's most successful dramas, building a large following during its first two seasons. The show's combination of family conflict, romance, secrets and its distinctive Mardin setting has helped establish it as one of Turkish television's major prime-time dramas.

Production on the third season is expected to resume toward the end of August, with the new episodes scheduled to reach viewers in September.

With Avkıran's Kartal, Arıcı's Ateş and Özaydın's Enver joining the story, viewers will now be waiting to discover how these new characters will affect Cihan, Alya and the wider Albora family when Uzak Şehir returns.
