ALBAWABA - Local media reports and videos circulating on social media say that a family disagreement involving the wife of Egypt’s national football team coach, Hossam Hassan, turned physical at a popular resort on Egypt’s North Coast.

The incident allegedly occurred at Porto Marina, when Hassan’s wife Dan Adam claimed that she was attacked by his children from a previous marriage, soon after they had returned from a performance. She said throughout the confrontation she was assaulted, had hot coffee thrown at her and was yanked by the hair.

Adam also said her children were involved in the fight and that Hossam Hassan was present and sought to defuse the situation before police came.

But there have been contradicting reports. Local media sources said Adam started the disagreement when he allegedly attacked Hassan's former wife Howaida El Gharbawy and one of their daughters before the argument developed into a broader family fight.

The same sources indicated El Gharbawy had filed a police complaint but later retracted it.

An online video clip that has been widely circulated appears to be part of the incident, showing an angry conversation that escalates into a violent fight involving multiple people. But the footage does not make it apparent how the confrontation started or who started the assault.

Witnesses said police responded to the incident inside the resort, while intervening to separate individuals engaged.

The authorities have not issued an official statement on the facts of the incident, and the differing accounts of the altercation have not been independently corroborated.
