ALBAWABA - The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), based in Brussels, filed a criminal complaint in Vietnam against Israeli reservist Matan Jerafi.
Matan Jerafi was accused by the human rights group of committing war crimes, genocide and incitement to genocide during Israel's wars in the Gaza Strip and Southern Lebanon.
According to the advocacy group, Jerafi participated in the destruction of civilian infrastructure in the Bureij and Maghazi refugee camps in central Gaza and in the Shujaiya and Rimal neighborhoods of Gaza City between December 2023 and January 2024.
The foundation added that he was transferred to southern Lebanon between October and November 2024, “where he continued to destroy civilian infrastructure.”

It is worth noting that Matan Jerafi is the CEO of the Israeli organization "Im Tirtzu", which is a right-wing, Zionist non-governmental organization (NGO) and grassroots movement in Israel founded in 2006. He also served with the 920th Infantry Battalion of the 769th Brigade.
The Hind Rajab Foundation said he "documented his deployment to Gaza and to southern Lebanon and his direct involvement in the unlawful destruction of civilian property."
Why was the complaint in Vietnam?
The Brussels-based advocacy group filed the lawsuit with Vietnamese authorities because Jerafi is currently vacationing in the Asian country.
