ALBAWABA - The Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) accused Kuwait in a statement on Sunday of detaining four citizens, claiming that their faith is unknown, as Kuwait is refusing to give information about them.
Four Iranian sailors entered Kuwaiti territorial waters and were detained on suspicion of involvement in sabotage activities, media outlets reported earlier.
The Iranian Army said that Kuwait is withholding information about the fate of four Iranians detained there.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense had previously announced on May 13 the arrest of four individuals who attempted to infiltrate the country by sea to carry out hostile acts against Kuwait, according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior reported that "the group of infiltrators confessed during interrogation to belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps".
During the weekend, Tehran also claimed that Qatar is holding three pilots who were shot down last March. However, Doha rejected the accusations.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar said on Saturday the Gulf state was shocked over the "misleading statements" from Iranian officials and reaffirmed that its forces are not holding any surviving aircrew.
"We categorically deny the claims circulating regarding the detention of Iranian pilots & are surprised by these misleading statements at this particular time, amid the ongoing diplomatic efforts & initiatives aimed at de-escalating tensions in the region," Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Majed al-Ansari, posted via X.
He added, "We reaffirm that contact was established with the pilots concerned following their violation of Qatari airspace & after confirming the trajectory of the targeting. After following the rules of engagement & attempting to communicate with them without receiving a response, the necessary measures were taken to defend our territory in accordance with international law. This was clarified at the time through official channels."
