Uzak Şehir wins 'Series of the Year' award

ALBAWABA - Turkish series "Uzak Şehir", which gained huge fame among Turkish and Arab fans, won the "Series of the Year" award.

On a celebratory night that brought together the most prominent names in Turkish media and drama, Demirören Media Group won three awards at the 11th Anadolu Media Awards, which were held at the Presidential Complex in the capital, Ankara, while the series Uzak Şehir stole the show after being chosen as "Series of the Year".

The award came after the remarkable success achieved by the Turkish drama during its first and second seasons, as it topped the viewership ratings and broke records on Kanal D, before the announcement of shooting a new season.

Murat Yanci, Chairman of Demirören Media Group, expressed his happiness with the success the series has achieved and said, "Uzak Şehir, a series that has left its mark on Turkish television for the past two years, is watched by the entire world. From America, Europe, and everywhere else, people flock to the filming location of Uzak Şehir, to Mardin. This fills us with pride. It has transformed Mardin into a different city altogether."

About Uzak Şehir

The series tells the story of a woman named Alya who arrives in her late husband's homeland with her son, but his powerful family prevents her from leaving, leading to a battle as dark secrets emerge.

Uzak Şehir brings together big stars from Turkey, including Ozan Akbaba playing Cihan, and Sinem Ünsal who plays Alya, in addition to other actors: Atakan Özkaya, Sahra Şaş, Alper Çankaya and Burç Kümbetlioğlu.
