ALBAWABA - As anticipation grows for the release of the newest iPhone model 18, some are looking forward to getting the 17 as previous model prices drop when a new model is released – one rumor says not anymore.

Famous, and more often than not credible leaker Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo, made a post on the site saying: “rumors are circulating that the iPhone 17 will increase in price,” in August.

While there’s no source listed for the rumor, Fixed Focus Digital had a positive track record of predictions in the past with users believing them to be well connected, lending a little more credibility to the rumor.

And, while the increase would be surprising, it would not be out of the question with one commenter saying:

“It wouldn't be a surprise if they do increase prices on the 17, what is a surprise is that they haven't already! I guess they could be planning on leaving the price of the 17 where it is because that will be the new $100 less price drop once the 18 ships at $100 more?

“No reason to increase the 17's price 3 weeks before it is about to be discounted because it is last years model.”

Many are wondering if the price increase will hit all iPhone 17 models or just a specific model.
