lebanon clashesAt least one woman died and several other people were hurt Sunday when fighting broke out in Beirut between supporters of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and Future Movement led by Saad al Hariri. The state-run National News Agency said a 30-year-old woman died in the fighting in the Aisha Bakkar district of Beirut.


The fighting included automatic weapons and rocket-propelled grenades. According to Naharnet, Lebanese soldiers managed around 9 p.m. to regain control of the situation.

 

The fighting comes only a day after Saad Hariri was named as prime minister, with the support of his parliamentary bloc and Amal.
