KhameneiIran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei on Sunday slammed the West's reaction to the country's election. Referring to post election protests, he insisted on executive power in judiciary system and its vital role on restoring justice.

He pointed to the recent riots, indicating that it can be solved through legal channels. According to ILNA, the Iranian leader said: "I admonish both sides not to stoke the emotions of the young or pit the people against each other''.

He added: "If the nation and political figures unite together, foreign temptations of tyrant and meddlesome politicians will be in vain."

Underlining the recent remarks made by US and EU officials on Iran internal affairs, Khamenei said: "These Officials made such idiotic comments on Iran as if they solved all of their problems and only Iran is their remaining issue, while they are unaware that wherever they put their political feet, that place becomes unclean for Iranian nation."
