Rak Pocelain Goes Global At The Hotel Show
Posted: 10-12-2006 , 11:42 GMT

In the space of just one year, RAK Porcelain has established a distribution network in 40 countries and achieved a reputation for quality contract tableware, highly rated for its chip resistant qualities and ranked among the best in the world.

The company will introduce eight new designs and 150 patterns for 2007, showcasing this range at The Hotel Show in June where they are doubling their stand space to almost 150 sq metres, ,

“Less than a decade ago, the vast majority of furnishings, restaurant supplies, and related design products were all sourced in established markets such as the UK, Italy and Denmark, for example,” exhibition director, Maggie Moore said.

“Now, while there has been an explosive growth in hotel construction in the region, we are also seeing a concurrent rise in local expertise in the supplies sector, twinned with growing professionalism and the highest standards.”

RAK Porcelain is a fine example of how the Middle East hospitality supplies sector has come of age according to Moore. They have already been accredited by standards authorities in the UK, US and France, as well as achieving ISO9001:2000 status.

Taking this message to the customer, the company will use The Hotel Show to complement its regional and international marketing strategy, according to Dr Khater Massaad, CEO of RAK Porcelain.

“With our new production facilities, we are now one of the biggest porcelain tableware manufacturers in the world. The Hotel Show is a key industry event drawing quality industry visitors, and by doubling our stand space there, we intend to replicate the overwhelming success of RAK Ceramics, our sister company - which has become a global leader in the ceramics industry in the space of just 15 years,” he said.

Spread over an area of 65,000 square metres, RAK Porcelain’s advanced manufacturing facility in the northern emirate now has an increased production capacity of 15 million pieces of premium quality porcelain dinnerware per annum – with production focus on two complementary collections, ‘RAK Porcelain’ for hotels and the hospitality industry, and ‘Elegance’ for the retail sector.

Note to the Editor
Showcase for all hotel supplies, The Hotel Show 2007 will take place between June 3-5, 2007, at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC), and will include for the first time a dedicated technology, systems and security pavilion in response to feedback from exhibitors and visitors.

The Association of Professional Interior Designers’ (APID) has also announced its intention to host the second Hotel Show Furniture Design Competition open to both experienced and newly qualified working designers. Prunabon will be a main sponsor of the competition and will manufacture samples of the winning designs to be revealed at The Hotel Show 2007.
