Muscat Securities MarketMuscat Securities Market (MSM) price index 30  rose by 11% by the end of April 2008 to close at 11210.97 points against  10102.57 points at the end of March 2008. Statistics issued by MSM showed that the banks, investment companies, industry, services and insurance sectors rose by 9.6%, 19.1% and 13.5% respectively to close at 15427.53, 11360.65 and 4552.63 points respectively.

 

According to ONA, the trading volume at MSM stood at RO.436.8 million (US$1135.68 million) during April 2008, against RO.338.6 million (US$880.36 million) during March 2008. The number of deals during April totaled 99871 through 574.1 million shares, against 76785 deals through 405.8 million shares during March 2008.

 

The market value for companies enlisted at MSM by the end of April 2008 totaled RO.12 billion (US$31.2 billion).
