Khamenei: Iran ‘will not yield’ over pressure
Posted: 24-06-2009 , 11:44 GMT

KhameneiIran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said Wednesday that he would not yield to pressure over the disputed presidential election. Khamenei, who has been challenged by widespread protests, told state television: “I had insisted and will insist on implementing the law on the election issue. Neither the establishment not the nation will yield to pressure at any cost.”

His statements came as reformists vowed to continue the protests that began last week and have left several people dead.
